Grace Kelly Exhibit
Starting April 2010 and going until late September, over 50 outfits of the actress turned princess Grace Kelly will go on display at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
The exhibit, appropriately titled Grace Kelly: Style Icon, will be broken into three sections: "The Actress", "The Bride" and "The Princess".
Everything from jewelry, to film wardrobe, her dress worn while accepting the Oscar for Best Actress, the original Hermes Kelly bag which was named after Princess Grace, suits from Chanel, and 35 haute couture gowns from Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, Givenchy and Balenciaga.
All of the pieces mentioned have been loaned from the Palace Princier in Monaco. Her son, Albert II is excited for the event honoring his late mother. Says the Prince of Monaco: "Throughout her life she exuded effortless elegance, whether she was appearing at the most spectacular public occasion, or a simply family gathering.”
A curator from the museum adds, “Grace Kelly epitomized the ladylike glamour and sophistication of the 1950s. She epitomized ‘style’ as opposed to ‘fashion’, and her appeal has remained timeless, with women today still emulating her understated chic.”
