Chadwick Tyler, explored

If you google Chadwick Tyler, some pretty intense imagery will pop up. Branching now into the fashion arena, his initial foray into the photography world was capturing stereotypical rail-thin models, exaggerating them with body paint, make-up, Hard Times clothing, and throwing them into rooms that look about as dilapidated as Miss Havisham's parlor. His photographs actually looked wasted and ruined. Dirty, even. His desire with the pictures is to emphasize the "ghoulish" effect the modeling industry has on the women involved in it. By playing up the more extreme aspects of the waifish, wasted, heroine inspired look that has been popular since the late 60's, Chadwick's images are powerful, to say the least. However just as impactful, here are a few of his more classic images:
